Encounter one of the most biodiverse regions on Earth, when you can indulge in world-class wine, globally renowned gourmet food, and awesome extremely dangerous surf spots, stunning natures walk trails, and pristine beaches. Go whale watching in season, explore ancient caves, and stroll through forests of timber giants. Blessed with mild weather and abundant sunshine, visitors are blown away by breathtaking scenery and out-of-this-world walking trails, where almost 80 percent of the unique to this area plant species abound and are found nowhere else on Earth.
Day 1: Perth to Mandurah, Busselton, Yallingup, Augusta:
Departing Perth travel south, driving past southern suburbs, and via Mandurah and the beautiful Dawesville Cut, we travel through the Tuart Forest to the Busselton Jetty. It is one of the world’s longest wooden jetty & was still operational until a few decades ago. We take time to marvel at the historic jetty and take in sweeping views of Geographe Bay.
Back onto Yallingup for lunch (at own expense) and a tour of Ngilgi Cave, the underground wonder of stromatolites’ & stalactites. Enjoy a unique experience in this underground magical wonderland. The next stop will be driving through huge old-growth forests to Margaret River township. Also, enjoy wine tasting at a local winery & chocolate tasting at the Margaret River Chocolate company. We then travel to Augusta for a good night’s rest.

Day 2: Augusta to – Pemberton:
Visit Cape Leeuwin – the extreme southwest point of Australia. View the famous waterwheel and Australia’s tallest mainland lighthouse. We then travel through the Karri Valley forest. Enjoy an easy bushwalk to the famous Beedelup Waterfalls and view spectacular wildflowers (in season only). An opportunity for swimming or just enjoy the natural surrounds of wildlife including native kangaroos, emus, and various birdlife.
Stay overnight in Pemberton.
Day 3: Kerri-Valley – Pemberton, Walpole, Tree Top Walk, Denmark – Albany:
We make our way further south through the giant old-growth Karri forest to Bicentennial Tree. The Bicentennial Tree is one of the highest treetop lookout points in the world, used till a few decades back as a Fire early warning lookout point. After this depart for the Valley of the Giants and the Engineering marvel of the Tree Top Walk – a canopy boardwalk 40 meters above the forest floor. Here we have the opportunity to take a walk through the canopy of the ancient Tingle forest. We then proceed to view the large granite formations known as Elephant Rocks and to enjoy the serene atmosphere in the clear waters of Greens Pool. After a relaxing time, we travel to Albany. Travel to Frenchman’s bay to view the rugged coastline of Natural Bridge & The Gap, see the mighty ocean & its effects on rugged rock line & enjoy some great ocean views.

Day 4: Albany – Mt Barker, Kojonup, Williams, Perth:
After a hearty breakfast, we drive to the top of Mt Clarence, enjoy stunning views of King George Sound, the outer islands, and the Albany Township. Also, visit the Mt Romance Sandalwood Factory and an opportunity to sample local wines at a local winery. Visit the AmityBrig & local museum, the Dog Rock & Albany Township. Travel through sheep & farming countryside and the quaint small regional townships of Mt Barker, Kojonup & Williams and if time permits we may visit a fruit orchard to sample the fresh local produce before we head back to Perth reaching our destination at approximately 5.00 pm, after a memorable time in the Southwest of Western Australia.
